CSP – INNOVAZIONE NELLE ICT S.C. A R.L. PUBLIC NOTICE

CSP is a research body in the field of Information and Communications Technology. Its mission consists in technological innovation and knowledge transfer with the aim to support economic and social development.
On 14th July 2011 CSP’s Extraordinary Partners’ Meeting approved an updated company statute, which foresees the establishment of a new board: the Steering Committee (article 11). The Committee is responsible for monitoring on-going initiatives and providing guidance on overall strategic direction to accomplish CSP’s mission, providing ad-hoc reports to the Partners.
It will be made up both of direct customers/partners and indirect stakeholders who are not necessarily company’s shareholders but represent the business world, workers’ and employers’ associations, research centres, academic institutions, operating in the ICTs field or which are involved in activities in accordance with CSP’s mission.
Objective
The purpose of this call is to collect applications to shortlist a group of potential members of the above described Steering Committee.
Addressees
This call is open to large-scale companies, SMEs, Research Centres and Universities, established both in Italy or abroad.
Steering Committee’s regulation
The Steering Committe will meet at a minimum of two times per year. No remuneration will be paid to members participating to the Steering Committee tasks and activity. This Call for Interest is not intended to provide financial or economic aid nor contributions to participating legal entities.

Application submission
Applications must be submitted by a legal person and sent to CSP – Innovazione nelle ICT s.c. a r.l. (Via Livorno 60, 10144 Torino Italy) via postal mail no later than Friday 9th September 2011 (h. 6.00 p.m.). All envelopes should be clearly marked: Call for Interest - Participation to CSP’s Steering Committee. Applicants must enclose a copy of the applicant organisation’s articles of association and official certificate of legal registration.
Member-selection rules
Applications will be evaluated by a Selection Committee composed by representatives of CSP’s shareholders. Selection results will be published on CSP’s website no later than the 20th September 2011.

PIEDMONT, ITALY, THE WORLD’S FIRST REGION TO BROADCAST BACKWARD COMPATIBLE 3D TV

Turin, 01 December 2010 - Yesterday, in Turin, at the headquarters of the
Piedmont Region, a news conference was held announcing the implementation, from
Piedmont, of the first 3D HDTV broadcasts, free-to-air, with a system for
backwards compatibility with 2D TV sets.

Create Conference 2010: Struttgart, Germany, 10-11 November 2010

The CREATE Forum, that take place in Stuttgart from 10th to 11th November, will be part of a bigger event (the CREATE 10 - at www.create10.eu), providing the opportunity to discuss the Joint Research Agenda. The forum involves the direct participation of European companies presenting here their innovative products and solutions for the creative industries.
Building up creative industries providing strategic guidance for policy makers in European regions. These are the main objectives of the CReATE Project, started in March 2008 and leaded by MFG Baden-Württemberg with partners from Rhône-Alpes (Imaginove Cluster), Piemonte (CSP Innovazione nelle ICT, Politecnico di Torino and Regione Piemonte) and West Midlands (Advantage West Midlands).

White Spaces: the trial by CSP and Politecnico di Torino is the first of its kind in Italy

Turin, October 6 2010 - White spaces are the partially unused frequencies left by broadcasters after the switchover to Digital Terrestrial Television, which can be used for trials to deliver broadband internet services to areas which are difficult to reach with the normal network, such as mountainous areas.
On September 20 the European Commission issued a statement establishing 2013 as the deadline for defining rules for the efficient use of these unused frequencies, or white spaces.
IBC 2010: Stereoscopic TV for sign language translation

With the competences developed inside DTVLab the research laboratory on Digital Television, CSP's researchers participate to IBC which is one of the most important annual event worldwide for professional involved in management and delivery of entertainment and news content.
