EUCAP, una delle più importanti conferenze internazionali su “antenne e propagazione” si svolge a Goteborg dall’8 al 12 Aprile 2013. Tra i partecipanti anche CSP, da anni impegnato nella ricerca sui Droni UAV – unmanned aherial vehicles -, che con Livio Torrero di EmsysLab, presenta un paper dal titolo “RF Immunity Testing of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Platform Under Strong EM Field Conditions”. Il lavoro è il risultato delle attività di ricerca e testing realizzate in camera anecoica, dove è stato verificato il comportamento di un drone se messo ad operare in prossimita’ di apparati radiotelevisivi e piu’ in generale di antenne operanti in frequenze tra 1.4 e 2.7 GHz. Scopo dell’attività e’ giungere ad usare il drone, operando in piena sicurezza, per misurare e caratterizzare le radiazioni emesse da quel tipo di antenna.

The 7th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation – EUCAP – is held in Goteborg, Sweden, from 8th to 12th of April 2013.
Livio Torrero, EmsysLab resercher specialized on Unmanned Aherial Vehicle reaserch and testing, takes part to the conference to present the paper “RF immunity testing of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle platform under strong EM field conditions”.
“This work – the paper abstract says – assess the reliability of a general-purpose low-cost UAV platform through RF immunity tests carried out under high EM field strength in an anechoic chamber. The assessment is motivated by the need for using UAV platforms to carry out field strength measurements in proximity of high-power radio broadcasting stations. The work show that the radio links of the UAV platform under test exhibit a good reliability in terms of out-of-band interference rejection with field strengths of up to 10 V/m, while the sensors and subsystems do not undergo critical failures in static conditions.”
