Multi-function, open, customisable, portable, low energy consumption, embedded system that monitors environmental signals of various kinds using probes. The system enables remote management of probes and data collection, with data sent via a wireless or wired IP connection.

The system integrates wireless sensors that receive data from remote locations, connected using ad hoc protocols for sensor networks, that function in wake up mode to save energy. The system communicates with the web using a range of broadband and narrowband technologies. The applications developed by CSP regard environmental monitoring, data gathering for precision agriculture and monitoring landslides and RF signals. New features  include integration with mobile detection nodes and a function for monitoring energy consumption in residential and industrial settings.
