It is a software application for Software Defined Radio systems that “senses” and analyses the spectrum.
The particular algorithm used is capable of assessing the type of signal and estimating its quality.
The research initially focused on television signals, with the aim of analysing and exploiting low power signals, the so-called “white  spaces”, for data transmission. The software can however be adapted to “sense” other kinds of signals.
